Samsung Captures the Spotlight: New Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G Now Equipped with Samsung Knox Vault Security System

In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, Samsung has been consistently releasing new devices to meet the demands of its users. And it seems like they are not slowing down anytime soon. The tech giant has just launched two new mid-priced phones – the Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G, both equipped with the highly secure Samsung Knox Vault system for the first time ever.

Introducing Samsung’s Affordable Galaxy A Series

Packed with similar features like Google’s Pixel A series and Apple’s iPhone SE family, Samsung’s Galaxy A phones offer a more budget-friendly option compared to their high-end models. While the official prices and availability of the A55 5G and A35 5G have not been disclosed, it is expected that they will fall within the same price range as their predecessors from last year. For reference, the Galaxy A54 5G was priced at $450.

A Close Look at the Galaxy A35 5G

The Galaxy A35 5G will be available in the US. Samsung will be positioning its Galaxy S23 and S23 FE as more affordable alternatives with stronger capabilities compared to the A35 5G, but with a lower price tag than the Galaxy S24.

“We are excited to announce that the Galaxy A35 5G will be coming to the US market. More information will be revealed in the coming months,” said a representative from Samsung’s US subsidiary in a statement to CNET. They also clarified that they will not be carrying the Galaxy A55 5G at this time.

Meet the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G

Samsung Knox Vault Security System

The standout feature of the Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G is the inclusion of the Samsung Knox Vault – a secure environment that is physically isolated from the main processor and memory. This allows users to safely store confidential information such as login details. While the Knox Vault has been previously offered on Samsung’s Galaxy S series, it’s the first time that this feature will be available on the more affordable Galaxy A family.

Similar Specifications, Unique Differences

Both phones boast a 6.6-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5,000 mAh battery. However, the key differences lie in the cameras and hardware. Samsung claims that the Galaxy A55 5G can capture better photos in low light thanks to its AI-based image signal processing technology, but it’s unclear if this feature will also be available in the A35 5G. The Samsung Indian website for the A35 5G does mention an upgraded neural processing unit and more powerful sensors for better low-light photography.

Galaxy A55 5G Camera Setup: 50MP Main Camera, 12MP Ultrawide, and 5MP Macro

The Galaxy A55 5G sports a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. It also has a 32-megapixel front camera. The Galaxy A35 5G has the same camera setup, but with a slightly less powerful 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 13-megapixel front camera.

Design and Hardware: Sleek and Durable

Samsung has not provided any details about the design of the phones in their press release, but product pages on their Indian and Malaysian websites reveal that the backs of the phones are made of glass with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus and are IP67 water-resistant. The Galaxy A55 5G also has a metal frame. While both phones are powered by an octa-core processor according to the product pages, no specific details have been revealed yet.

Expandable Storage & Software Updates

Both phones come with expandable storage, a key feature that sets them apart from the premium Galaxy S series. They also run on Android with Samsung’s One UI software, and will likely receive software updates for at least four versions, similar to Samsung’s previous software support policies for their A series.

Samsung Sticks with its Winning Strategy

With the release of the Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G, it seems like Samsung is staying true to its successful strategy of enhancing essential features such as security and design, rather than adding flashy new capabilities. This can be seen in the design upgrade of the Galaxy A54 5G, which sported a more modern look and commanded a higher price than its predecessor.
