Emirates Connects 53 Aircraft to Starlink, Targets 232 Across Fleet

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 15th Sep, 2026) Emirates is continuing to equip its fleet with Starlink satellite internet at a rate of 14 aircraft per month, with 53 aircraft now connected as part of a plan to extend the service to 232 aircraft. According to Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 33rd edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM), Kazim stated that the rollout is progressing amid strong demand and high passenger uptake, with technical and engineering teams working diligently to make the service available on as many aircraft as possible.
He expressed optimism about the upcoming winter season, supported by Dubai's vibrant calendar of events, increased frequencies across the airline's network, and new destinations. Kazim highlighted positive indicators for demand during this period, including bookings associated with mid-term school breaks and outbound travel from the UAE during the holiday season.
Furthermore, he noted that Emirates is expanding its fleet:
- Its Airbus fleet is projected to grow from around 30 aircraft currently to 36 by year's end.
- Boeing 777-9 deliveries are scheduled to commence next summer.
Kazim also drew attention to the airline's ongoing fleet retrofit program and the successful rollout of Premium Economy. Currently, this cabin is available on 137 aircraft, with a target of 155 by year-end, catering to strong market demand.
Regarding Emirates' participation in Arabian Travel Market 2026, Kazim emphasized its significance as a global gathering for the travel and tourism sectors. He highlighted agreements signed during the exhibition focusing on strengthening tourism flows through collaborations with local entities in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, as well as international destinations such as Malaysia, Seychelles, Mauritius, and the Maldives. These agreements aim to promote tourism and boost travel to these destinations and the UAE.
Finally, Kazim stressed the airline's commitment to tourism promotion through marketing campaigns, roadshows, and bilateral agreements with various market destinations, underscoring that destination promotion is a vital aspect of Emirates' operations.
