PM Directs Timely Completion of Five Danish Schools in AJK
Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Iftikhar Gilani issues directives
MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 15, 2026) | Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to ensure the timely completion of five Danish schools being established across the region under an initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
He issued these directives while chairing a high-level meeting to review progress on the establishment of the Danish schools in AJK.
Federal Official Provides Update
Federal Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training, Nadeem Mehboob, briefed the meeting on construction and administrative arrangements for the projects. He informed that 83% of construction work on schools in Bagh and Bhimber had been completed, while work on projects in Haveli, Neelum, and Kotli was also underway.
Key Features of Danish Schools
The Danish schools will offer:
- Quality education in a modern learning environment.
- Boarding facilities for students.
- Sports facilities, healthcare services, digital libraries, IT facilities, science and computer labs, and other essential amenities.
Prime Minister's Address
Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani termed the establishment of Danish schools in AJK a historic initiative, stating they will provide quality education to talented and deserving children who cannot afford high-quality educational institutions due to limited financial resources. He assured full cooperation from the PML-N government and directed authorities to resolve issues and complete the schools within the stipulated timeframe.
