Police arrest 107 proclaimed offenders

Police have intensified a crackdown against anti-social elements and arrested 107 proclaimed offenders across the district over the past two weeks.

Police sources said here on Tuesday the police arrested 107 proclaimed offenders, including **18 of Category-A and 89 of Category-B. According to the data, 39 proclaimed offenders were arrested during the same period last year, comprising 8 Category-A and 31 Category-B suspects, marking a 174 percent increase in arrests compared to 2025.

DPO Tassawar Iqbal said steps were also underway to cancel the passports of notorious proclaimed offenders and secure the arrest of accused persons who had fled abroad. He added that the crackdown against proclaimed offenders would continue through effective strategy, coordinated operations, and the use of modern technology.
